This typically Parisian fin-de-siecle luxury hotel is right across from the Gare St-Lazare, a few blocks from the department stores along Boulevard Haussmann, the Opéra Garnier, and the Place de la Madeleine. The hotel’s 19th-century Gustave Eiffel-inspired lobby is a historic landmark, and the high ceilings, marble pillars, and sculptures look much as they have for over a century. All 300 rooms were refurbished in 2001 with complete soundproofing, double doors, air conditioning, minibar, in-room safe, phone with voice mail and Internet modem jack, and cable TV. The spacious bathrooms (with combined bath/shower) have separate toilet, hair dryer, and Annick Goutal toiletries. The hotel has all of the four-star services such as room service, laundry, concierge, business center (with computer station), and valet parking. Guests have access to a fitness center three blocks away. The Belle Epoque brasserie Café Terminus and sultry Golden Black Bar were both styled by the fashion designer Sonia Rykiel.
